Prairie Walk Re-Scheduled to Sunday July 10

On Sunday, July 10 at 9 am, a prairie walk will be held at Garfield Farm Museum. Reservations are required for this 2-3 hour hike by calling 630 584-8485 or e-mail info@garfieldfarm.org.

Featured on the hike will be the intensive work done this past 12 months employing professional contractors and volunteers to focus on key management issues of invasive plants. Both the successes and challenges will be discussed as the prairie begins its major push towards its legendary height.

There is a $6 donation and hikers should wear long pants and walking shoes and bring sun and/or insect protection. The hike will be led by museum biologist, Jerome Johnson.

Garfield Farm Museum is a 375 acre historically intact former 1840’s prairie farmstead and teamster inn that volunteers and donors are preserving as an 1840's living history museum. The museum is located 5 miles west of Geneva, Illinois off ILL Route 38 on Garfield Road. Guided tours are given on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons June through September from 1 ? 4 pm, all other times by appointment.
